Expansion and innovation in Colombia
We currently have four hospitals in Colombia. In 2020, we expanded our operations into two hospitals in Bogotá, and in 2023 opened two additional hospitals in Popayán and Pereira. We are developing into a fully integrated, regional health care system offering world-class, high-quality care in Colombia.
Clínica Los Nevados, Pereira
In our ongoing commitment to provide superior medical care, we have established a state-of-the-art Hospital in Pereira that takes our mission one step further. The Clínica Los Nevados not only represents a breakthrough in the Colombian healthcare sector, but also symbolises our dedication to improving the lives of people around the world through exceptional healthcare. With capacity for more than 1000 hospitalisations, 850 surgical procedures, 3500 emergency consultations, 7200 outpatient consultations and 33,000 support procedures per month, we will contribute to solving the region’s health problems. This new hospital, equipped with advanced technology and expert staff, will provide comprehensive, high-quality health services to the community of Pereira and the coffee-growing region. From diagnosis to treatment and follow-up, our new facility is prepared to handle a wide range of medical needs with the efficiency and empathy that characterises Steward Health Care.
Clínica San Rafael de Popayán, Popayán
This new medical facility, equipped with the latest technologies and expertly trained medical staff, reinforces our commitment to providing quality healthcare services in Colombia and beyond. This state-of-the-art hospital features 140 adult hospital beds, 7 operating rooms, 31 emergency observation cubicles, and 39 critical care beds, in addition to the Cauca Blood Bank. The clinic has the capacity to meet the needs of the region, including the support of areas such as the coffee-growing region, among others. It offers a comprehensive diagnostic support service that includes conventional radiology, ultrasound, C-arm, tomograph, MRI, and angiography, as well as a clinical laboratory and pathology service. Outpatient services include oncology with a capacity of 15 sites for chemotherapy, and non-invasive cardiology services.

Steward is constantly upholding and evolving our leading standard of care in Colombia. We provide our patients with hospital facilities that are modern and efficient. In the Hospital Universitario Clínica San Rafael, we are increasing capacity to accommodate more patients, investing in key departments and installing new state-of-the-art technology. These improvements facilitate an innovative, streamlined and rapid service for patients in Colombia.
