With over 20 years of experience in health care around the world, Dr. Armin Ernst brings deep expertise in traditional and innovative delivery systems and extensive managerial experience in building integrated, high-performance systems and teams within large academic medical centers, ambulatory care systems, and for-profit and non-profit health care environments. A Harvard-trained and globally-recognized physician and teacher, Dr. Ernst emphasizes the need for fully integrated high-quality care to achieve best outcomes and create sustainable delivery systems.
Alessandra Pace holds a Master’s Degree in Political Science and Communication and brings years of experience working in high profile settings within both the private and the public sector, including experience with the European Parliament and election campaigns in Malta. With in-depth knowledge of European Affairs and Politics, she focuses on strategic communications and complex, high-level issue management for Steward Health Care.
Dr. Jan Gloer is a specialist for internal medicine and a senior hospital executive with more than 15 years of proven experience in running hospitals and health care facilities. His areas of expertise include strategic hospital planning, change management, process improvement, cost efficiency reengineering, medical controlling and quality management. Prior to joining Steward Health Care International, he worked with a leading private hospital organization in Germany, where he oversaw the successful restructuring and strategic realignment of several hospitals across the country. Dr. Gloer is well versed in the art of negotiations, especially those pertaining to complex health insurance matters and a DRG system expert.
Miroslav Boyanov brings more than 15 years of leadership experience in corporate finance, accounting and hospital operations in the United States. Most recently, he held the position of Vice President of Development for Steward Health Care where he focused on mergers and acquisitions and strategic capital investment in new and existing markets. Boyanov began his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers and graduated from Duke University with a dual MBA and Health Sector Management degree.
Asad Ali brings a vast knowledge of foreign markets and years of experience in consulting and aiding business expansions overseas into his role as business development director. He has held key management positions in the MENA region and Europe and was instrumental in obtaining several major infrastructure contracts, worth a total combined investment of $2 billion. Ali is an accomplished entrepreneur and has founded and managed several companies in different markets. He holds a degree from the University of Concordia in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
Dr. Frank Pomposelli has a wealth of experience as a surgical educator and clinical researcher, with over 30 years of experience in the treatment of all aspects of vascular disease. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Society for Vascular Surgery and a past president of the New England Society for Vascular Surgery and has held a number of surgical chairmanships within the Steward Health Care system. Dr. Pomposelli brings key insight into the development of education pathways, and the design and operation of teaching hospitals and integrated health systems.
Michael Crowley is the Vice President for Global Corporate Real Estate and Facilities. He has more than 20 years of experience in delivering sustainable real estate solutions in support of business strategy while ensuring the best possible experience for our patients and their families. He has extensive expertise in corporate real estate, development, construction, support services and facilities management in geographically dispersed and complex organizational settings; and, has served in executive leadership roles at private, public and not-for-profit organizations. He is a graduate of Boston College (BA) and New England Law (JD).
